本属は本種のみを含む。世界に広く分布し、日本では本州、九州、四国及び琉球列島から知られる。成虫は様々な植物から採集されるが、関東地方の三浦半島ではPanchaetothrips kikiriやHeliothrips haemorrhoidalis クロトンアザミウマ等とテイカカズラからほぼ一年中採集されている。
This genus contains a single species. This species is distributed throughout the world. In Japan, it is known from Honshu, Kyushu, Shikoku and the Ryukyu Islands. It is polyphagous and occurs on many kinds of plants. It is collected commonly from the leaves of Trachelospermum asiaticum in Miura-peninsula of the Kanto-region together with other panchaetothripine species such as Panchaetothrips kikiri and Heliothrips haemorrhoidalis throughout the year.
